ELPRO Technologies has released the 105U-L family of uni-directional wireless I/O. These flexible, yet powerful units provide a cost-effective means to deploy wireless connectivity to a single sensor or group of sensors. Typical applications include wireless connection of flow or energy meters, monitoring of storage tanks, monitoring of cathodic protection systems on pipelines or possibly wireless alarms from power reticulation fault-relays.

The 105U-L transmitter is designed and built for rugged industrial applications with a powerful 869MHz 500mW transmitter ensuring clear, reliable communications – even in the most demanding of conditions. Typical operational range (line-of-sight) of up to 15km can be achieved and up to 1000 meters in heavily obstructed environments. Radio distance can be further increased by adding up to 5 intermediate repeater units.

Data security is assured through highly secure data encryption techniques and the use of WIBnet™ wireless technology providing peer-to-peer communications, exception reporting, and reliable self-checking messages.

The 105U-L units include analog, digital and T/C inputs (linearization & CJC included), and analog and digital outputs. Set-points can be configured for high/low and the units offer a powerful set of diagnostics that can report on the health of the device as well as the robustness of the wireless network. Comms fail and fail-safe modes can be configured by the user.

Each unit is constructed of a high-strength, thermo-plastic housing (100 x 22 x 120 mm / 3.9 x 0.9 x 4.7 inches) featuring a DIN-rail mount. These units are compliant with Class 1, DIV 2 approvals and rated to operate from temperature extremes of -40/+60C.

ELPRO offers these units pre-configured from the factory. Alternatively, the user may configure each unit with easy-to-use configuration software for precise in-situ performance.

These units carry ELPRO’s exclusive lifetime warranty.
