Calibration laboratory receives on-site accreditation

Just over a year ago, the unitemp calibration laboratory received accreditation by the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS).The lab became known as SANAS Lab 363 for temperature metrology.

Due to an increase in demand for calibrations, the decision was made to expand the facility in 2012.The unitemp calibration laboratory has now obtained SANAS accreditation for performing on-site calibrations.

Roy MacGregor, unitemp lab head, says “We look forward to being of assistance to industry within our region, and possibly beyond.”

“Having the SANAS accreditation means that our certificates contain valid measurement results and are fully recognised by local and international inspection bodies. The certificates are also important to prove that the facilities comply with HACCP, insurances and other regulatory requirements.”
