Texmate NZ, manufacturer of intelligent control systems, has appointed unitemp as sole distributor for sub-Saharan Africa.
Founded in 1976, Texmate was formed to design and supply its own brand of programmable controllers for the American instrumentation markets. More than thirty years on, it is now a global supplier of branded and customised electronic controllers.
Anthony Glucina, CEO of TexmateNZ, visited South Africa recently to conclude the agreement and to provide technical training for the unitemp team.
"Our equipment covers fully programmable process controllers for the automation of small processes where a cost-effective solution with minimum setup and programming is required. It is ideal where flexibility is needed without having to resort to PLCs".
The Texmate product is unique in this regard and fills the gap between conventional PID controllers and PLCs.
"It compliments our product offering extremely well and will be particularly attractive to the original equipment manufacturers building weighing systems, packaging equipment, filling applications, etc." says Dieter Bütow, Sales & Marketing director of unitemp.
Texmate offers both smart off-the-shelf process controllers with pre-programmed intelligence as well as a modular system that will allow Unitemp to adapt the program to the application. For the first time, controllers with real-time logging will be available to track and record the process events. The real-time clock also allows timed start-ups and shutdowns to ease operator control.
Besides the process controllers, Unitemp will also launch Texmate's range of process transmitters, isolators, loop-powered indicators, data loggers and customised equipment for OEMs.
In due course Zigby wireless units with Modbus capability will be available.
